Preserving Appin's Rich Heritage

Appin Historical Society Inc. is a voluntary, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to preserving, interpreting, and promoting the rich history and heritage of Appin and its surrounding region.

We maintain an extensive and ever-growing collection of historical materials, including photographs, maps, letters, books, textiles, furniture, and other fascinating ephemera. These items are carefully preserved and archived to ensure they remain accessible for future generations.

At Appin Historical Society, our mission is to collect, preserve, and share the rich history of our community with the world. We are committed to providing educational opportunities and engaging programming that encourages a deeper understanding and appreciation of our past.

Volunteers are the heart of our organisation. Whether you have an hour a month or many hours to spare, there’s a role for everyone—from museum staffing to research and events. Membership is open to all, regardless of age or location—you don’t have to live in Appin to get involved. We warmly welcome new members and volunteers who share our passion for history and community.
